Holiday Essentials SS16

With a girls weekend in Ibiza just around the corner, it is time to step up the style stakes with beautiful accessories and prepare my pale, tired little body for a few days in the sun! Click on the titles for more information…

RAE Feather Beach Bag, £195

I’ve been following this stylish brand on Instagram for some time now and as soon as I spotted my favourite “Lady of London” Caroline Stanbury sporting the personalised basket, I knew I had to get my hand on a version of my own! I have gone for the monogram canvas shopper – perfect as my carry on luggage and will look super stylish besides the pool.

Victoria’s Secret Bikini

I’ve only recently discovered the Victoria’s Secret range of swimwear and now can’t imagine going anywhere else for instant poolside style. I really struggle to find a good fitting bikini, but the supportive cups and adjustable tie straps make these a perfect fit for any size.

Arbonne Sea Salt Scrub, £24

A good exfoliation is my essential ‘must do’ before a holiday to revive and refresh my skin. This is absolutely the best body scrub I have ever used. The sea salt will massage away dead skin and wake tired cells, whilst the natural oils including avocado and safflower seed will deeply moisturise leaving you feeling brand new. The smell is divine! As with all of the Arbonne products, the ingredients are botanical and vegan friendly.

The Beach People Roundie Towel, £90

I’m hoping the weather will be warm enough to sit on the beach and enjoy this stylish round towel with fringed detail. It’s made by an Australian brand called The Beach People, it’s so much easier to lounge around on than your usual towel but rolls up just as compact.

Renewing Body Gelée, £34

One to pack is this gorgeous tub of moisturising heaven. Specially formulated to sooth sun exposed skin and rehydrate after sports. Everyone that tries this can’t believe how far such a small amount goes, it’s incredibly easy to apply and absorbs instantly leaving you with an all over dewy glow.

Sensi Studio Woven Straw Clutch, £115

This gorgeous clutch bag has summer holiday written all over it! Teamed with a simple summer dress or ripped pair of jeans, it will add instant summer glam to a throw on outfit. I can already see it resting on the table next to my Long Island Iced Tea 🙂

AW16 Fashion Show, The Mall Camberley

Saturday marked the end of the 2 week fashion event at The Mall in Camberley with a full Autumn Winter ’16 Fashion Show. Hayley at Frock Me I’m Famous and myself hosted the event and styled 10 models each to highlight the trends available at stores in The Mall.

With help from my BFF behind the scenes, 5 of my nieces and nephews modelling the clothes and a sister snapping some professional shots of the event – I certainly felt more confident up on stage this time around!

Here are some pics of the day…

Hayley and I being introduced on stage by the lovely MC Lucy!

Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.09.10

First up was my niece Olivia wearing a French Connection ribbed crop top and navy jeans, bag by Accessorize, and jacket and patent brogues by Primark.

Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.22.08

Quite a looker eh? You can check out her beauty vlogs here

Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.03.49

Next we have Claudia, Olivia’s sister, she is wearing a long white shirt buttoned to the collar (she seemed too young for the statement necklace which I would normally put with this style), a leather-look waterfall style jacket – both by Miss Selfridge, fail safe Primark skinny jeans which cost just £7!!! and these fabulous little patent ballet pumps from Accessorize.  Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.08.57

Such a beaut!

Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.09.25

And this gorgeous thing is the youngest of the sisters – Saskia. She is wearing head to toe Primark and looks a million dollars.

Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.09.07

Saskia certainly had the best walk of the day, there was some serious attitude going down the runway!

Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.09.27

This is Hayley, the fashion expert and blogger who hosted the show with me. You can check out her blog here… Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.08.54

And on to the men… This is James – my eldest nephew, I was asked several times if he was a professional model (not that I would tell him that! We would never hear the end of it!). He is sporting the seasons sheepskin in this classic Levi’s jacket, Criminal shirt and slim fit 511’s – all available at House of Fraser. Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.09.16

Taking a moment!

Here they are, the Anstee boys. giving ‘The Face’ a run for its money…Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.09.33

In addition to the show, myself and Hayley were set a challenge to dress a model each from head to toe for less than £50 in a Style War. Hayley followed the seventies trend with the suedette skirt and tasselled accessories and I opted for a classic trench coat and breton stripe combo. The audience were left to decide who won and I was very pleased that they voted my outfit to win!Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.09.18

Here come the girls…Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.09.35

And here I am walking the runway with my family of models in the background 🙂 Last time I did this was for a Mini Miss competition in Ibiza when I was about 7 years old!
Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 08.09.38

I absolutely loved the whole experience from selecting the outfits, choreographing the models and finally presenting the show. I’m very much looking forward to what Spring Summer ’16 has to offer!

My Fashion Workshop at The Mall, Camberley

I was recently approached by a PR agency working on several events around the country to promote various shopping malls and the brands within them. The event they contacted me regarding is called Fall For Me and is part of a 2 week fashion extravaganza being held at my local shopping centre, The Mall in Camberley. My brief was to present the shows as the Fashion Expert / Blogger, style all of the models and help choreograph the events on the day. With a background in marketing and a huge interest in fashion, I felt confident I could deliver so jumped at the chance to get involved!

After several conference calls between myself, the agency and the marketing manager of the mall, we met the heads of the retail partners involved to select which clothes to use that best highlight the trends of AW16. The main retailers I used were House of Fraser, Monsoon, Accessorize and Primark.

After checking the schedule for these events, I soon realised I needed extra help if I was going to pull this off! So I called in the help of my good friend and fashionista Yasmin Bond, who helped with the finishing touches and selecting the accessories for the models.

Yasmin and I backstage at the Fashion Workshop event

The first event which was held on 19th September was the Fashion Workshop. Here I was asked to discuss the current trends and how to wear them, offer some lifestyle and wardrobe tips, and showcase these trends and tips on 8 models in front of an audience at The Mall in Camberley.

Arriving early before The Mall was open!

So after arriving at the marketing suite of the mall, we met with the rest of the team and models for a quick debrief on how the day would run and then it was time to get make up sorted and outfits ready.

The endless rails of clothes I had handpicked from the retail partners ahead of the event.

Matching the clothes to the models!

Shoes, shoes, and more shoes. And boots.

Dressing the models ready for the stage!

I also called in the aid of an old school friend and Make Up artist Nicola Waters who made up each of the models keeping the looks relevant to the trends featured on the AW16 runways. She kept the complexions fresh with a dewy finish, eyes were mostly natural shades of brown and the lips were coloured in the seasons warm berries. Each of the models looked and felt absolutely beautiful.

Even the boys got to enjoy a quick session with our beauty expert!

I gave a quick talk to the models offering tips on how to pose and how best to show off the clothes and accessories, before making our way down stairs to the stage…

Probably one of my favourite parts of the event. If there is one thing I know, it is how to pose…

I was incredibly nervous about the presenting part of this work… Styling? no problem. Project management? no problem. Script writing? no problem. Public speaking? slight issue with this one… The nerves got the better of me for the first show at 12 and the slight technical hitch with the microphones didn’t help! but by 2pm when the second show started I was feeling loads more confident and was happy to walk on stage when the MC Lucy introduced me.

Lucy calling me up on stage at the 12pm show

And I’m up! Legs are shaking, voice is low…

Sharing a mic after my ear piece fell out! Not ideal…

And this was the 2pm show, quick outfit change into this little French Connection dress and I was far more confident!

After a quick breakdown of the current trends of Autumn Winter 2016 and a few lifestyle tips (you can read my full script here including all of the trends I mentioned), we introduced the models and I talked through their clothes and accessories.

Here they all are on stage at the end of the first show.

The models were actually competition winners with no experience in modelling and I only had dress sizes and heights to work with when selecting their outfits. This was perhaps the most challenging part of the brief! I was so lucky that each of the models were confident and wore all the clothes I selected for them absolutely perfectly. There was a huge risk of nothing fitting or suiting the models having not seen any of them before the event, but luckily – everything worked and they all looked fab!

Here are a few of the outfits we showcased on the day.

Mel looked fab in the biker chic trend wearing a French Connection shirt and jacket, Monsoon jeans and Primark heels.

Roselyn is following the Victorian trend in a lace top and jacquard print trousers, both from Monsoon. The shoes are Primark, £16!

Vanessa demonstrating how to wear the seasons tribal prints! Jacket from Monsoon, polo neck from House of Fraser and seventies inspired jeans from Monsoon.

All together!!

This was the perfect warm up to the real event taking place next saturday at The Mall in Camberley, the full Autumn Winter 2016 Fashion Show. The stage is bigger, there is a 6m runway, there will be 20 models (including 6 of my gorgeous nieces and nephews) and even a style war between myself and another fashion blogger Hayley, at Frock Me I’m Famous (who incidentally is absolutely lovely and you should go check out her blog!). If you are anywhere near the Mall in Camberley on 26th Sept, please do come along, it’s set to be a really good show and of course there will be free goody bags!

AW16 High-Street Trend Report

For the fashion workshop I recently hosted, I was required to put together a trend report taking inspiration from the AW16 runways and make them apply to the looks available in stores on the high-street.

Here is the breakdown of trends I discussed at the event and some examples of the items my models wore…

The 70’s comeback dominated the runways with their fringed accessories, paisley prints and of course the denim flares.

Monsoon, £49

Oasis, £45

Oasis, £22

The runways were rich in texture with faux furs, leather and Victorian lace and the colour of the season is red… from pillar box to warm berry.

Screen Shot 2015-09-20 at 08.29.00

Linea at House of Fraser, £189

Accessorize, £35

Touches of metallic were used to accessorise and to add Christmas sparkle to plainer outfits.

Screen Shot 2015-09-20 at 08.32.58

Biba at House of Fraser, £39

Shoes have remained pointy and high, with Aquazurra owning the open laced up styles that I am sure you have seen in all the shop windows and that I have some great examples of today!

Screen Shot 2015-09-20 at 08.38.10

Primark, £16

The poncho or blanket coat has been carried over from last season’s boho trends and biker chic has been updated for AW16 to a far more sophisticated style worn with silks and elegant shoes.

Monsoon, £99

Valentino and Emillio Pucci revived the monochrome palette with bold accessories and Victoria Beckham took oversized bags to a whole new level.

Coast, £115

When it comes to make up, a dewy fresh glow, subtle browns on the eyes and warm berry shades for the lips were popular on the ‘ready-to-wear’ catwalks whilst popping lips and heavy liners were more focused on the couture shows.

Summer Style 2015: The Holiday Edit

Holiday is booked, bikini is purchased, legs are shaved. Ok legs aren’t shaved, but we’re not going for a couple more weeks… We are heading back to the fabulous Gloria Resort in Turkey for some last minute sun and the holiday prep is well and truly underway! From hair protection to stylish sunnies, check out my break down of this years holiday essentials…

A subtle gold chain against a sun kissed décolletage gives just enough bling for instant poolside glam.

3. Seafolly Gili Island Striped Kaftan, £53

Seafolly do a great range of colourful kaftans with these gorgeous tasselled trims, they are so easy to throw on over your bikini whilst you enjoy cocktails by the pool.

4. Paul Mitchell Sun Shield Conditioning Spray at, £9.99 is my first stop for all of my hair needs, this conditioning spray will protect against the suns harmful rays to stop your hair getting too dry.

9. ESPA Skincare Optimal Skin ProDefense, £35

I keep this handy little pump in my hand bag and apply daily for instant protection from the sun. It’s great peace of mind whilst working as an intense moisturiser.

Post-Baby Summer Wardrobe

There is nothing quite so depressing as that first shopping trip after having a baby… Even after the majority of baby weight has gone, you are a totally different shape and your pre-baby style no longer seems to suit you. My advice would be to hold off on a visit to the shops for as long as you can bear and stick to your trusty yoga pants to see you through until you are feeling more body confident.

Aside from trying to find a new style that is going to suit the new body bestowed on you, if like me, you have the added shopping criteria of ‘suitable for breast feeding’, shopping can just be a massive chore! Well it has been 3 months since having Anastasia and although I’m not back to pre-baby weight and my shape is very different, I am happy with my new ‘mum bod’ and have found some really practical and stylish pieces that I wanted to share with any other new mums on the hunt for a post baby wardrobe! (Click on any pic to be taken to the site).

A loose vest will be your best friend in the heat whilst trying to breastfeed in public and the best I have come across are from Warehouse. They are such a nice shape and are flattering tucked in or worn loose. There is a huge selection of colours and are only £10. STOCK UP! I get through 2 most days thanks to baby vom…

Stretchy Jeans

Whilst I love a good pair of skinny jeans, comfort comes first right now! I’ve just discovered Jack Wills do a brilliant pair of stretchy jeans and they are slightly higher waisted than I normally wear which again, covers any bulges when discreetly breastfeeding.

Dresses are simply out of the question when breast feeding, which is devastating when all you want to do is sling on a maxi and be done with it! So to stay cool, skirts are the only option but trying to find a flattering one for a 30 something is harder than you would think! I picked up a couple at Jack Wills and mix and match them with a selection of my new loose vests.

For those park days when a floaty mini skirt simply isn’t practical, you need a good pair of shorts to rely on. Especially if you have dare devil toddlers like me who regularly need rescuing from the top of climbing frames… Most shorts are just too short these days (and yes I know exactly how I sound when I say that) but I have found these from Zara which are practical and very stylish!

I’m still living in last years boat shoes from M&S, they are literally the most comfortable things I have ever worn so it’s no wonder I headed straight back there to see what they had on offer for Summer ’15! I struck gold with these brilliant suede sandals. The gladiator shoe is massive once again but you rarely find a pair that are actually comfortable. Unless you go to Marksies…

For tips on what to look for when shopping for the ‘breast feeding’ wardrobe, check out my previous post here!

Post Baby Pampering

9 months of pregnancy can really take its toll on your body. Your hair, your skin, your nails, even your teeth can be effected by the new hormones circulating your body and it’s rarely for the better! So now that baby is here, I intend to give myself a weekly once-over with all of these luxury products to help repair and recover my tired body from the outside in! From oil pulling to body polishing check out my top luxury items for a DIY pamper session…

Redken Diamond Oil Shampoo, £11.05 at

Starting from the top – head straight to and browse their huge collection of luxury haircare at very affordable prices. I needed something pretty heavy duty for my dry hair so a luxury daily wash and weekly deep mask treatment was my best bet at bringing some life back into it!

Redken Diamond Oil Deep Facets, £18.10 at

If you have the time, leave this on towel dried hair for up to 15 minutes before rinsing away, the results are instant!

Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Serum, £99

This really is the serum of all serums… To be applied before moisturiser, it will stimulate cell renewal and give you a glowing complexion within days of use. It promises to reduce fine lines but as I have only been using this for a few days I can’t comment on this, I can however tell you that my skin tone looks more even and certainly has a noticeably healthier feel!

ESPA Skincare Exfoliating Body Polish, £32

This is a seriously luxurious body polish. I apply this to damp skin when I get out of the shower and then jump back in to wash it all off. Takes no time at all and the results are amazing! It’s a very gentle exfoliator but leaves your skin feeling incredibly smooth.

ESPA Skincare Naturally Radiant Gradual Tan, £34

And for a real treat, once my body is polished and moisturised, I add a touch of ESPA’s latest product – the Gradual Tan. No awful fake tan smell and certainly no streaks. It’s very mild and can be applied daily to build up a natural looking tan, but for a healthy glow – I’ll apply to body and face once a week. Just remember to wash your hands after 🙂

Elemis Jasmine and Rose, Hand and Nail Cream, £18

I keep a quality hand cream on me at all times. My hands and cuticles get so dry these days, I’m not sure if it’s another post pregnancy effect or just the weather – but this gorgeous cream has certainly improved them.

Cocowhite Assorted Flavours, £19.99

Now I haven’t actually tried these yet, but from extensive research these seem like the best in their field so are on my ‘things to get’ list! You’ve probably heard all about the teeth whitening benefits from oil pulling, but actually, it is the health benefits to your mouth that interest me most with this ancient remedy. Swishing the oil around your mouth actually pulls all toxins including bacteria and plaque from your teeth and gums to make them much healthier all round.  Will let you know how I get on 🙂

Styling Your Bump For Spring

There have been some major changes occuring this week… The Uggs have been replaced with loafers (more so because I can no longer get them on), I am back to walking the 100 yards to Scarlett’s nursery instead of shamelessly driving it, and last years daffodils have made a fresh appearance in my garden pots! Yep Spring has well and truly sprung and with a new season comes a new collection of clothes so check out my top picks from the virtual high street to style that gorgeous bump of yours!

Keeping it tranquil for Spring!

1. JoJo Maman Bébé – This is such a great cardigan that can be worn a number of ways to flatter your growing bump. When left open, it has that gorgeous waterfall effect that gives instant relaxed style to a jeans and vest combo.

2. Isabella Oliver – I love this simple sweater dress, it will fast become a wardrobe staple worn with converse trainers and a brightly coloured scarf.

3. Charlotte’s Web – This gorgeous chunky ring can also be worn on a long chain as a necklace for simple statement jewellery.

4. Marks & Spencer – The most lethal shop on the planet… I only went in for hot cross buns! These little loafers come in a selection of colours and I can see myself living in these for SS15.

5. Isabella Oliver – Such an elegant tunic that can be worn so easily with leggings, jeggings or simply a tan! Just remember to invest in a stylish maternity belt, it’ll be your style saviour for the summer months.

6. Madderson London – The brand favoured with pregnant celebrities – even Kate Middleton is regularly spotted in their beautiful tunics! This silk kaftan can be dressed up with skinny jeans and super high heels for special occasions or worn relaxed over your bikini on the beach!

7. JoJo Maman Bébé – You really can’t go wrong with a breton stripe dress. Accessorised with a large tote it’s the perfect get-up for instant chic style.

8. Isabella Oliver – Invest in quality vests, they are so much more flattering around the bust!

9. Zara – And of course a faithful scarf to add a splash of colour to simple outfits. Tie Dye is still very much in…

Review: ESPA Mum To Be Collection

Now as any Scarlett and Me follower will know, full product reviews are a rare thing on this site unless I really, REALLY like a product. Well this luxury collection of ESPA products has well and truly passed the test and so I am dedicating an entire post to tell you all how fabulous it is and let you know how you can get your hands on a set!

I am relatively new to this brand having only sampled the Balancing Foam Cleanser at Christmas, but instantly fell in love with it. I couldn’t wait to give more products a go and was delighted that at my recent spa visit I was able to trial a number of products to recreate a luxury DIY facial which you can read all about here.  Just in time for Mother’s Day, they have put together a luxury collection aimed at Mums To Be and New Mothers and I have been extremely fortunate to receive and review these products to feedback to all of you.

The collection includes Nourishing Shower Cream, Smooth and Firm Body Butter and Nourishing Body Oil.

Nourishing Shower Cream

The Nourishing Shower Cream is designed to rehydrate and moisturise dry and maturing skin, which is exactly what my poor heavily pregnant body needs right now! It’s moisturising qualities don’t hide behind a rich superficial lather, instead, it leaves a soft and subtle layer of bubbles slowly absorbing into your skin. It feels, quite simply, divine. It’s main ingredients are Sweet Almond Oil and Shea Butter and it’s lightly fragranced with uplifting Rose, Patchouli and Mandarin essential oils. Deeeeeliscious.

Smooth and Firm Body Butter

The next ritual in my new morning routine is to smother my arms, legs and bum with the Smooth and Firm Body Butter. I am not usually a fan of ‘butters’ I find them exhausting to apply and are usually a bit too waxy. But this is more like a seriously rich cream and a little goes a long way. It leaves your skin with a soft dewy glow and feeling moisturised for hours. It is the pumpkin seed extracts within the ingredients that make this product relevant to pregnancy as they have proven qualities that enhance elasticity in the skin.

Nourishing Body Oil

And finally I apply the luxury Nourishing Body Oil to my boobs and bump – the seriously ‘at risk’ areas. Rich in Vitamin E it has been designed to smooth and intensely moisturise the skin to reduce and prevent the appearance of stretch marks. It is quite a light oil which makes it really easy to apply and again, a little goes a long way. I have always favoured oils over creams because I think that the effects last much longer and it just makes more sense to me that an oil can penetrate the skin deeper; so as somewhat of an oil connoisseur I can seriously recommend this one :).

Here is how you can get your hands on this luxury collection…

If you were to buy these exact products separately it would cost £100, but by buying it as a collection in time for Mother’s Day, you can save yourself £22 and take advantage of free delivery! But even better than that – ESPA Skincare are giving you the chance to WIN it! Simply click on the screen grab below to enter!

Good Luck!

My Top 5 Baby Changing Bags for 2015

So being a ‘Bag Girl’ myself, choosing my first ever nappy bag was up there with the most exciting purchases made during my baby shopping frenzy back in 2011 when I was pregnant with Scarlett. I remember seeing the Elizabeth Storksak in tan at John Lewis and it was love at first site. So much so I went on to also get this in red after having Savannah in 2012! Whilst there is plenty of mileage in the old bags yet, with a new baby should come a new bag. Am I right mums!? So these are my Top 5 tried and tested most stylish and practical baby change bags on the high-street.

Pacapod Firenze, £265

If you already follow my Instagram you’ll know what a huge fan I am of this bag. It’s pretty big, so perfect for me with the 3 ‘under 4’s’ I’ll soon be catering for, plus there are endless compartments for your bits and bobs that mean you can’t help but be organised when you leave the house. But let’s face it, it’s the putty colour, the pebble grain leather and the chunky gold details that give this luxury bag the edge. Like all of the Pacapod bags, it is designed with practicality in mind but by no means sacrifices on style to get there. And whilst this might be on the slightly pricy end of the scale, this fabulous shade of grey will see you through every season making the Firenze a very justifiable investment.

Pacapod will be launching the much awaited Madison bag very soon and I am delighted to say I will be one of the first to review it 🙂 So, if you are interested in more from their luxury range, make sure you follow the blog to stay up to date!

Babymel Cara, £58

This is the most gorgeous lightweight bag to see you through Spring / Summer and offers instant Riviera style to a simple jeans and t-shirt combo.  It’s got plenty of storage and its large main compartment makes it incredibly easy to find what you are looking for. The changing mat is large yet compact, you aren’t overwhelmed with too many pockets and for sheer ease of use I would give this bag a 10 out of 10. It is definitely the bag that will be joining me on all of our holidays!

Coco Bow, £190

This brand was recently recommended to me by a fellow blogger, and I have to say I am really impressed! Coco Bow have such a beautiful collection of vintage inspired designs all made in the finest leather, but it is the innovative practicality that set this bag apart as the winner of the Junior Design Awards 2014. It can be worn over the shoulder, as a stylish handbag and even as a back pack making this bag perfect for a mum with more than 1 child. Their SS15 collection will be available from March so I am very excited to see what else they have up their sleeves!

Pink Lining, Not So Plain Jane, Hydrangea, £34.50

Pink Lining have made their mark with their signature Yummy Mummy cup cake motifs, but for a slightly more toned down version of their best sellers – check out the Not So Plain Jane collection. The hydrangea is my favourite print and the hard wearing canvas means the bag always keeps its shape. It has ample storage solutions and a really lovely branded changing mat. All of this and it is currently half price in the sale! It’s a perfect summers baby change bag.

Storksak Elizabeth, £199

I couldn’t very well list my Top 5 and not include my faithful Elizabeth… Since getting mine they have bought them out in a much wider selection of colours and I absolutely love it in Chalk, this is a seriously chic bag that will look equally stylish in the colder months.
