WIN: 1 of 10 Sets of RE9 Anti Ageing Range by Arbonne

I wanted to kick start my posts for 2017 with an exciting giveaway, so thought what better to offer than my favourite product of 2016! The RE9 Anti Ageing range by Arbonne.

As most of you will know, I am now a consultant for Arbonne, which is a very luxurious health and wellness brand. The absolute hero of their product range is the Anti Ageing products and I have miniature sets of the award winning RE9 that I want to give to 10 lovely subscribers of my blog. The results can be noticed anywhere between 24 hours and 7 days of use and the SRP value of this full set is £268 (a mere smidgen of the cost if this was sold through retail as opposed to direct selling!)  A full review of these products can be seen here.

It was this range that made me sign up as a consultant, I was absolutely blown away by the results of the products. I have since introduced this range to almost all of my friends who in turn have either joined the team or regularly buy these products. They are simply, amazing.

I asked them to give me a quote to share on this post…

“Oh my god. They have transformed my skin!” – Hannah Fairhurst, Family Solicitor

“I have had so many compliments on my skin since using this set!” – Kate Cannon, Former Global Sales Director of Oil & Gas Company

“It was the neck cream that got me!” – Janine Alexander, Hypnotherapist and Author

“I was nervous at first, I have never been one to stick to a strict skincare regime, but now I would go without food before missing out a step in my RE9 skincare!” – Lucy Tysoe, Marketing Director

“I didn’t even finish my Crem de la Mer after being introduced to these products. I am now a consultant!” – Jo Collins, Owner of Sellers PR

“I have been searching for a luxury Vegan brand for years, honestly I didn’t think they existed and accepted that if I wanted to go cruelty free – it meant sacrificing on my looks! Not any more!” – Michelle Lenan, Busy Mum of 3

All Arbonne products are botanically based and are formulated without parabens, SLS or mineral oils (a nasty bulking agent found in pretty  much all major department store brands) and are suitable for Vegans. We are actually the number 1 beauty brand recommended by Peta the animal welfare organisation. However, just because our products are plant based – this does not mean they are not effective. The formulations are incredibly sophisticated – there ethos is to combine the best of nature with the best of science avoiding all harmful chemicals, this means the ingredients are very active and the RE9 range is not recommended for people with hyper sensitive skin (if this is you – get in touch and I will happily send you products from our Calm range instead).

If you would like to get your hands on one of these miniature sets, simply enter my giveaway via any of the following ways:

  • Share this post on your Facebook page via the icon below
  • Follow this blog via email or by hitting the blue follow icon
  • Email me with your skin concerns at

The 10 winners will be selected by random and notified on 31st January 2017.

Good luck! x

Network Marketing With Arbonne: What Is It All About?

Last month I joined the Network Marketing hype and decided to set myself up as an Arbonne Independent Consultant. Network Marketing essentially means utilising the network you have to promote a product. There are no catches in this, it’s simply an alternative method for brands to sell their product outside of the ‘normal’ retail channels. I have had a lot of questions about my decision to join this scheme so thought I would put together a post for my network to read to get a very honest and better understanding of how this system works and why it is right for me.

My Story…

It was at a children’s birthday party that I first met Nina, my sponsor. We started chatting about life, kids, work, the usual chat – and we discovered we had lots in common, mutual friends, career plans, and the desire to earn extra money for a more luxury lifestyle! She briefly spoke to me about her career as a Makeup Artist and said that she also works as a Vice President for Arbonne. It all sounded very glam and it certainly explained the Chanel hand bag and brand new Merc 😉 She asked me to get in touch with an opportunity for how I can get in on the action!

We met up and I grilled Nina on the ins and outs of the Arbonne industry and how someone like me could work with a brand like this. So here are the facts as I understand them…

Arbonne is a luxury beauty, skincare and nutrition brand with a fancy Swiss heritage (the reason the Swiss bit is relevant is because anyone in the “beauty know” understands that to be Swiss approved means the product has to be EXCEPTIONAL!). The products are designed for the whole family; men, woman and children. But it was the cruelty free aspect that really impressed me when talking about this brand. All the ingredients are botanical and the brand has never and will never test on animals. Arbonne is the Number 1 approved beauty brand by PETA – and you do not get a bigger endorsement than that… The science that goes into these products is fascinating and has certainly made me think twice about the ingredients in the other products I have been using.

I have tried a number of Arbonne products and can say hand on heart – I am massively impressed, so much so I have made the switch from many of my long time favourite luxury products to Arbonne equivalents.

So How Does It Work As A Business?

Basically Arbonne rely on Network Marketing to generate sales. They don’t waste their budget on advertising and all the usual channels of getting their products in store – instead they get their loyal fans to recommend the products and in return for this, the fans get a rather hefty commission bonus! In the US they are already the 4th most popular beauty brand which is seriously impressive when the leading 3 brands sell through the more usual channels and media advertising. This really is a case of the product selling itself.

What Do I have To Do?

Essentially you buy your own website, mine is this cost me £56. Now I have my site, my job is to direct people to this site to generate sales, and for every sale I make, I get a commission. And that is it. My job is done. There is no exchange of cash, no dispatching of products, no stock issues, the order goes directly to Arbonne and they take care of everything – I just get a figure into my bank account at the end of the month. This very quickly adds up! In addition, if I introduce new people to represent this brand, I also get a commission on the sales they generate. And if they introduce someone; I get the commission on those sales too! The year on year growth of this brand is insane, and once you are in – you’re in, those sales just keep on coming and everyone feels the benefits.

Now when I get to this point in my explanation of the Arbonne scheme – I’m hit with ‘Oh OK like a pyramid scheme?’ well I’m embarrassed to say, I dont really understand the whole pyramid scheme thing, all I know is that this was made illegal in the 80’s due to people losing fortunes, so I can say with total certainty – this is not a pyramid scheme! It quickly became apparent to me that those suggesting this, actually didn’t know themselves what a pyramid scheme is, but it’s natural that sometimes there will be negativity with the unknown and that is just something that comes with the job when talking to people about this business. There is no risk, as other than the £56 to buy your site, there are no other costs you need to pay. You may choose to buy some samples (using a big discount) so that you can let people try the products, but it is not essential. So when I hear that there are reviews online saying this is a scam and not to do it because you’ll lose all your money, I get really confused?! as there is no money to invest!

Why This Is Right For Me…

The result of this type of work is 100% effort led. Meaning the more you put in, the more you will get out. With 3 kids under 5, I can’t commit to more than 8 hours a week on this, there is no one to tell you to do more or less, you are totally your own boss which suits me!

My background and my current profession is as a freelance digital marketing consultant, so I plan to use the knowledge I have to drive traffic to the site, but having said that, there is no denying that the real success of this business comes from personal recommendations and a good network of supportive friends and family. My husband has been so supportive throughout my journey so far, he has already put me in touch with new clients from his office that will only use Vegan friendly products! Your network is far greater than you initially think… 🙂

Last week I hosted my first party with the help of Nina and I loved every minute of it – I thought I would keep this business purely digital – but the make up & skincare masterclass combined with bucks fizz and home made cupcakes (Arbonne themed and made by my lovely friend!) was such a wonderful girly night that I intend to host one of these every month! (ps – Do get in touch if you would like to host one of these with your friends!)

Could It Work For You?

Absolutely. If you have an interest in beauty, skincare or nutrition and a supportive network of friends and family, it’s a really fun lifestyle job that if you really wanted to put the time into, could quite literally change your life. There are 4 tiers in the Arbonne heirachy, and it if you want it badly enough, it doesn’t take long to climb them as it is completely limitless how far you can go. Nina, the friend that introduced me, picked up the keys to her White Mercedes just 25 months after joining Arbonne (a little perk for the Vice Presidents!) and with 3 young boys, a baby on the way and a profession as a make up artist – I fully believe her when she says she honestly doesn’t put more than 15 hours a week into this. She is currently soaking up the atmosphere at the Arbonne conference in Vegas which I will be attending next year.

This is Nina in the middle after being awarded her white Mercedes!

I have been doing this for less than 6 weeks and have already introduced 5 friends to this opportunity, like me they fell in love with the products and could instantly see the potential in the business. One of them has already introduced 2 further friends! You see how quickly this grows!? And this brand is global, so if you are reading this in Australia – get in touch!

I hope that I have given justice with my explanation of this venture, it’s so hard not to come across as a door to door sales person when trying to talk about this on paper! If you have any questions and think this might be quite a nice type of work to fit around your lifestyle, or might just be interested in giving the products a go, then please do get in touch!

Review: ESPA Mum To Be Collection

Now as any Scarlett and Me follower will know, full product reviews are a rare thing on this site unless I really, REALLY like a product. Well this luxury collection of ESPA products has well and truly passed the test and so I am dedicating an entire post to tell you all how fabulous it is and let you know how you can get your hands on a set!

I am relatively new to this brand having only sampled the Balancing Foam Cleanser at Christmas, but instantly fell in love with it. I couldn’t wait to give more products a go and was delighted that at my recent spa visit I was able to trial a number of products to recreate a luxury DIY facial which you can read all about here.  Just in time for Mother’s Day, they have put together a luxury collection aimed at Mums To Be and New Mothers and I have been extremely fortunate to receive and review these products to feedback to all of you.

The collection includes Nourishing Shower Cream, Smooth and Firm Body Butter and Nourishing Body Oil.

Nourishing Shower Cream

The Nourishing Shower Cream is designed to rehydrate and moisturise dry and maturing skin, which is exactly what my poor heavily pregnant body needs right now! It’s moisturising qualities don’t hide behind a rich superficial lather, instead, it leaves a soft and subtle layer of bubbles slowly absorbing into your skin. It feels, quite simply, divine. It’s main ingredients are Sweet Almond Oil and Shea Butter and it’s lightly fragranced with uplifting Rose, Patchouli and Mandarin essential oils. Deeeeeliscious.

Smooth and Firm Body Butter

The next ritual in my new morning routine is to smother my arms, legs and bum with the Smooth and Firm Body Butter. I am not usually a fan of ‘butters’ I find them exhausting to apply and are usually a bit too waxy. But this is more like a seriously rich cream and a little goes a long way. It leaves your skin with a soft dewy glow and feeling moisturised for hours. It is the pumpkin seed extracts within the ingredients that make this product relevant to pregnancy as they have proven qualities that enhance elasticity in the skin.

Nourishing Body Oil

And finally I apply the luxury Nourishing Body Oil to my boobs and bump – the seriously ‘at risk’ areas. Rich in Vitamin E it has been designed to smooth and intensely moisturise the skin to reduce and prevent the appearance of stretch marks. It is quite a light oil which makes it really easy to apply and again, a little goes a long way. I have always favoured oils over creams because I think that the effects last much longer and it just makes more sense to me that an oil can penetrate the skin deeper; so as somewhat of an oil connoisseur I can seriously recommend this one :).

Here is how you can get your hands on this luxury collection…

If you were to buy these exact products separately it would cost £100, but by buying it as a collection in time for Mother’s Day, you can save yourself £22 and take advantage of free delivery! But even better than that – ESPA Skincare are giving you the chance to WIN it! Simply click on the screen grab below to enter!

Good Luck!

My New Year Beauty Discoveries

After years of setting myself unrealistic and quite frankly unenjoyable New Years Resolutions such as going to the gym, eating healthily, giving up alcohol and so on, I have set myself much more achievable resolutions to stick to for 2015. The first is to get my nails painted more regularly, the second is to be more vigilant with my skincare regime and the third is to make a greater effort for child free nights out with hubby. These are far more enjoyable resolutions to keep and are already in full swing! So with a diary full of dates and a new mobile beauty therapist on speed dial – I thought I would share with you some of my new skincare discoveries that have quickly made it to ‘can no longer live without‘ status. (There’s also a few beauty items in here that I couldn’t resist telling you about!)

Espa Balancing Foam Cleanser

This is my first experience with Espa products and I am hugely impressed! This is such a refreshing face wash with a truly unique texture. It comes out as a foam and looks like it should be thick and creamy on your skin, but actually quickly dissolves on contact offering a very light but thorough clean. Quite hard to describe – try it, you won’t be disappointed. My poor pregnant skin has totally noticed the difference since using this product and looks the best it has in months!

Bioderma Sensibio

I’ve been searching years for an effective way to remove my make up that wouldn’t leave me with a red dry face, and I’m pleased to announce that I have found the solution in Bioderma Sensibio. It’s unbelievably kind to your skin whilst easily removing even the toughest of make up with just a small amount on a cotton wool bud. Not easy to pick up on the high street but readily available online at a very reasonable price. I actually got mine from a site offering buy 1 get 1 free so make sure you have a good look around online for the best deal!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion

It’s an oldy but a goody! I think the last time I bought this was when I was 17, it was part of my first ever skincare regime! I recently tried a sample of their new and improved formula and have to say the new light lotion is perfect for my skin. I think I naturally have quite oily skin so anything too rich was making it feel quite greasy and I was regularly getting break outs, but since using this, my skin feels fresh and hydrated and break outs are very rare.

Urban Decay Naked 2

I know, I know, I have been living in a cave for the past few years by not having this palette in my life, but now I have it – I finally understand what all the fuss is about! It literally has every shade to create every possible look you could want and comes with a brilliant double blending blush to apply. I have actually been taking inspiration from my beauty vlogging niece recently who is also a massive fan of these palettes and offers brilliant tips on how to apply the colours for specific effects. Check out her videos here, I’ll certainly never waste my time with pencil liner again after viewing them!

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

I figured the eye shadows were so good, maybe the mascara would be too so added it to the Christmas wish list and I have to say – it’s brilliant! It offers serious volume to even the thinnest of lashes without clumping at the roots.

Christian Dior Rouge Baume Lipstick

This is my new handbag favourite. For the past few years I have been using various shades from Chanels Coco Rouge Shine collection; I still love these lip sticks, they are incredibly moisturising, are lovely to apply, offer a non sticky gloss and the colours are perfect – however, I do find myself needing to reapply A LOT. This Dior lipstick has everything the Coco Rouge Shine has but stays put for much longer! I’m currently using shade 558 and can’t get enough of it 🙂

How To Cheat The Pregnancy Glow

So my big blog news this week is that I am pregnant! Our 3rd little bundle of joy is due at the end of March 2015. Whilst we are both extremely excited (and terrified) at the prospect of a new little addition joining our family, I am afraid pregnancy isn’t something I find particularly easy… As with my previous 2 pregnancies I have been diagnosed with hyperemesis, which is basically really hideous morning sickness (that lasts approx 24 hours a day and can go on for the entire pregnancy!). As a result of constantly being sick and quite dehydrated, I look rubbish pretty much most of the time…

Now, for all you other sufferers, I am afraid I can’t offer you any solutions – I have tried everything and nothing works for me, (although Ice Pops have recently offered some temporary relief!), but what I can do is give you some beauty secrets to disguise it giving you that enviable pregnancy glow that doesn’t come to us naturally! And the best part is that it shouldn’t take any more than 2 minutes to fake!

The Tools…

The Face

Studio Fix by Mac where have you been all my life!? This has totally replaced my liquid foundation, the coverage is brilliant and takes me approximately 20 seconds to apply! I sweep a large face brush in circular motions straight over a clean moisturised face to give the most even finish.

The Glow

Whilst giving you an all over healthy glow, bronzer is a great tool to contour your face and give more definition to your cheek bones. The applicator most bronzers come with are actually the best for doing this and the trick is to do your face in 2 halves. Once the brush has enough bronzer on (tap it to shake off excess), start on your cheek bone from the hair line and gently sweep it back and forth to the apple of your cheek to build up colour, use what is left on the brush to cover the rest of that half of the face (you shouldn’t need extra powder) and do the same on the other side. My current favourite is Bronze Goddess by Estēe Lauder. This should take approximately 15 seconds to complete.

Screen Shot 2014-09-25 at 16.22.43

Estēe Lauder, Bronze Goddess, 02 Medium

I use a shimmery blusher by Mac to give some colour to my face. I dab the smallest amount to the cheek bones with a blusher brush to give a natural and healthy look. 10 seconds….

Screen Shot 2014-09-25 at 12.18.16

MAC, Mineralize Blusher, Love Joy

I’m using my Chanel Quadra eye shadow in browns. I actually only really use the cream to cover the lids and the brown to contour the eye socket, the darker you go – I find the less tired you look! If I have time and can be bothered, I’ll add a touch of Liz Earle pencil eye liner to the top lashes. 30 seconds.

Screen Shot 2014-09-25 at 12.17.34

Chanel, Quadra Eyeshadows

Day or night I like to use the heaviest mascara I can get my hands on, and so far for me, this has proved to be Dior Iconic. A few licks on the top lashes is enough to last the day and brighten tired and blood shot eyes! 20 seconds.

Screen Shot 2014-09-25 at 16.26.37

Dior, Iconic

The Lips

Finally, for the lips go for something with a slight gloss and a natural colour. My favourite at the moment is Chanel Rouge Coco Shine, in shade 54 Boy. 5 seconds.

Now this isn’t enough to make you exactly red-carpet-ready, but for a quick fix to a healthy and natural look, these are the tried and tested tools I’d recommend. The down side to faking the pregnancy glow is that you can forget getting any sympathy 🙂

What To Expect

It’s time to try something new… Being a mum is wonderful, the greatest thing I have ever experienced, but sometimes, it’s nice to switch off from “say hello to the sun” and get the creative juices flowing again. So the blog, Scarlettandme – is born! I used to be a digital marketing manager for L’Oreal Paris, I’m still a digital consultant but my real passion is fashion and beauty. I really miss having that excuse to spend endless hours going through Grazia, Vogue and Cosmo for purely “editorial research”, finally I have created a reason to do it all again! From here on, my subscriptions will be renewed… However, as any new mum will tell you – a baby changes your style, it happens to the best of us. So perhaps you won’t be reading about the new Choos hitting the runway, but what I can offer you is how to stay looking stylish from the day your size 10 skinnys refuse to do up until the day you finally burn that hateful nursing bra that will never give you the shape of a Marie Joe.

With every milestone in your pregnancy comes a new fashion challenge, I’m currently pregnant with my second and will not be making the same mistakes as I did in the first…  I want to be able to share my fashion experiences and offer tips and advice on the most cost effective way of looking and feeling fabulous, where to go, when to buy it, where to steer clear from, the best bras (this one I really am an expert on going from a happy D to a ginormous G!), what the celebs are wearing and how to get the look for less, what’s best for breast feeding as well as sharing my beauty experience on how to make yourself feel and look amazing with very little effort!

Along the way, I’ll come across stories I want to share outside of maternity beauty and fashion, most likely revolving around my beautiful 1yr old daughter Scarlett, she’s the face of SMA Formula Milk don’t you know? What she wears gives me as much pleasure as my own wardrobe, and she wears it so well? Suri who!? So I will be sure to include the latest finds in baby and toddler fashion as well as anything else that takes my fancy… enjoy!
