WIN the Prescott Changing Bag By Pacapod Worth £115!

It’s Giveaway time again on Scarlett and Me! And this time in the form of the fabulous Prescott Satchel Changing bag worth £115…

This bag is serious eye candy for any new mum, but the reason I am hosting this prize draw so close to Father’s Day is that it is also a favourite for the stylish dad! This bag has already been spotted on the gorgeous Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Hemsworth so it would make the perfect gift for the new dad or dad-to-be. How wonderful for him to have his very own baby bag for him to fill with nappies and whatever else men put in their bags?! The beauty of all the Pacapod bags is that there are endless pockets and compartments to store different things. In my experience – Men appreciate this. My husband gets very frustrated rummaging through my bucket bag to find the wet wipes – it’s weird because I find them straight away every time?

Prescott is a smart yet rugged satchel, with the option of a slim or generous profile. A striking blend of fabric adds a tactile element to the bag, with a gorgeous mix of coated cotton and soft supple canvas.

It has hidden expansion panels with expandable side zips to increase capacity for those extra busy days, while the adjustable shoulder strap allows you to juggle baby and tots and keep hands-free.

A changing bag, work bag (there is actually space to keep a laptop!) and cool bag all rolled into one, it’s a reliable ally that will work hard for you all day long, thanks to PacaPod’s signature 3-in-1 baby organiser.

For your chance to WIN this super stylish changing bag worth £115 either for yourself of the dad in your life, you can enter in any of the following ways:

Mother And Baby Photo-Shoot

Today was spent at my sisters studio for an impromptu photo-shoot with Anastasia. I was worried that I had left it too late to capture those new born moments, but actually, after today I totally recommend waiting until around the 7 month mark to book your shoot so that their little personalities really shine through in the photos.

I am so delighted with these beautiful shots of my baby girl that I thought I would share them with you, here are some of my favourite pics of the day…

Thank you so much Lorna for such beautiful photographs and for capturing such special moments, they will be cherished forever. xxx

The Crème De La Crème In Baby Skincare And Your Chance To Win It!

“Little Butterfly London is Britain’s first luxury organic-certified baby skincare range, promising the purest and gentlest care for exquisite baby skin.”

Already a huge fan of the organic Nappy Cream, I was delighted when Little Butterfly London got in touch to see if I’d like to sample more from their luxury collection. Every product is made with only the finest, natural ingredients to protect and nurture a new borns skin. Little Butterfly London has been created by a mother who shares our passion for wanting only the very best for our babies.

I don’t like to put too many products on to my babies delicate skin, but for bath time, soothing baby massages and a little moisturiser to keep my baby as comfortable as possible, I have now been totally converted to the organic collection by Little Butterfly London. Here is what I think of the products I have tried…

Floating On Clouds Bedtime Bathmilk, £25.50

If it was good enough for Cleopatra!? This lotion is made using buttermilk with various other extracts of goodness including cucumber seed oil and avocado oil. All I know is, it smells divine and she seems happy enough bathing in it!

IMG_1321Anastasia in her new Babymoov Aquasoft Bath Support, it makes baby bathing very easy!

Fall Into Dreams Mother & Baby Massage Oil, £29

After a bath, I love to give Anastasia a soothing massage, she seems so content and relaxed whilst enjoying her full body rub! This oil nourishes, protects, heals and hydrates the skin with it’s magical concoction of natural ingredients. It also offers soothing support to those with eczema. It is lightly fragranced and absorbs quickly into her skin.

Soft As Moonlight Nappy Change Cream, £25.50

This is such a rich moisturiser, it looks almost like a mousse but absorbs leaving a light oil on the skin. As the hero product of the collection, it promises to deeply nourish delicate skin and protect and heal any areas prone to irritation. I only apply this in the morning for her first nappy change and so far, she hasn’t shown any signs of redness or discomfort.

It is worth mentioning that whilst all of these products have been created using only natural ingredients, they have all been approved and are highly recommended by healthcare professionals.

I have been so impressed with this range that I have worked with Little Butterfly London to put together this prize draw to WIN 1 of 3 Nappy Change Creams! Anything from this beautiful brand makes a wonderful gift so if you don’t have a newborn of your own, enter for someone who does!

Remember as usual, each way will count as a new entry!

Post Baby Pampering

9 months of pregnancy can really take its toll on your body. Your hair, your skin, your nails, even your teeth can be effected by the new hormones circulating your body and it’s rarely for the better! So now that baby is here, I intend to give myself a weekly once-over with all of these luxury products to help repair and recover my tired body from the outside in! From oil pulling to body polishing check out my top luxury items for a DIY pamper session…

Redken Diamond Oil Shampoo, £11.05 at

Starting from the top – head straight to and browse their huge collection of luxury haircare at very affordable prices. I needed something pretty heavy duty for my dry hair so a luxury daily wash and weekly deep mask treatment was my best bet at bringing some life back into it!

Redken Diamond Oil Deep Facets, £18.10 at

If you have the time, leave this on towel dried hair for up to 15 minutes before rinsing away, the results are instant!

Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Serum, £99

This really is the serum of all serums… To be applied before moisturiser, it will stimulate cell renewal and give you a glowing complexion within days of use. It promises to reduce fine lines but as I have only been using this for a few days I can’t comment on this, I can however tell you that my skin tone looks more even and certainly has a noticeably healthier feel!

ESPA Skincare Exfoliating Body Polish, £32

This is a seriously luxurious body polish. I apply this to damp skin when I get out of the shower and then jump back in to wash it all off. Takes no time at all and the results are amazing! It’s a very gentle exfoliator but leaves your skin feeling incredibly smooth.

ESPA Skincare Naturally Radiant Gradual Tan, £34

And for a real treat, once my body is polished and moisturised, I add a touch of ESPA’s latest product – the Gradual Tan. No awful fake tan smell and certainly no streaks. It’s very mild and can be applied daily to build up a natural looking tan, but for a healthy glow – I’ll apply to body and face once a week. Just remember to wash your hands after 🙂

Elemis Jasmine and Rose, Hand and Nail Cream, £18

I keep a quality hand cream on me at all times. My hands and cuticles get so dry these days, I’m not sure if it’s another post pregnancy effect or just the weather – but this gorgeous cream has certainly improved them.

Cocowhite Assorted Flavours, £19.99

Now I haven’t actually tried these yet, but from extensive research these seem like the best in their field so are on my ‘things to get’ list! You’ve probably heard all about the teeth whitening benefits from oil pulling, but actually, it is the health benefits to your mouth that interest me most with this ancient remedy. Swishing the oil around your mouth actually pulls all toxins including bacteria and plaque from your teeth and gums to make them much healthier all round.  Will let you know how I get on 🙂

Packing For Labour: What’s In My Hospital Bag

The count down is well and truly on now, it is just 8 days until D day but having gone a week over due with both Scarlett and Savannah I am not pinning my hopes on this baby arriving on time!  I am however, slowly but surely getting the house together and sorting things out in preparation for the little ones arrival. So starting with the hospital bag, I wanted to share with you what I would be packing. The items I include may differ slightly from the list you get on Cow & Gate or that have been recommended by your NCT leader, but 3rd time around – I can tell you now that taking photos of loved ones to help you relax in your surroundings are a waste of precious space in your bag…

The Bag…

The Firenze by Pacapod

Hugely useful with its ample storage space and separate internal bags and compartments.

For Labour…

1. Hopefully I’ll already be wearing this, but in case time is short – a sports bra to actually labour in is useful. They’ll give you a gown but I’m hoping for another water birth and don’t want to ruin or associate the experience with any of my nice bikinis!

2. Not for everyone, but I found the Tens machine really helpful in the early stages of labour.

3. You could be waiting around for a while so actually an iPod with speakers is really nice to have!

4. These little speakers by X-Mini are fab, it’s all we use at home.

5. Fruit and energy drinks are recommended. I’ll be taking a multi pack of Time Outs and some Hula Hoops.

There isn’t a great deal else I have found useful during labour. I plan to get in there, get in that pool, get the gas and air permanently stuck to my face and pray for a safe delivery!

For Baby…

1. A couple of muslins from my Faye & Lou rainbow pack.

2. New Born Pampers.

3. Not exactly essential, but this little cuddly lamb by Jelly Kitten is babies first comforter and it would be lovely to have it if there is room in the bag!

4. Babies first outfit! Merino of course, this is from Natural Baby Shower, remember you can get 10% off with code MERINO. I’ll also take a spare baby grow for just in case…

5. Water wipes – far easier than messing around with cotton wool and boiled water for those first few nappy changes. These wipes are just as kind to newborn skin.

6. My brand spanking new baby and blogging camera! The Canon Powershot N2, it has barely been test driven before it is about to take the most important photos of it’s little life! Thank god for the ‘skin smoothing’ feature 🙂

7. The softest blanket I could find, bamboo and silk by Babes with Babies.

For Me…

1. My coming home outfit! The beautiful Finsbury sweater from Sweaty Betty in a fresh spring orange, worn with…

2. Luxury yoga trousers also by Sweaty Betty, these are called the Uttanasana Pants – they are the ultimate in comfort with wide legs and a roll down waist – also the most flattering on a post baby body!

3. Emma Jane maternity bra, the best I have come across for shape, support and ease of use.

4. A couple of pairs of plain black short knickers. Disposable pants are just too depressing…

5. Tangle Teaser.

6. The new tinted moisturiser by ESPA Skincare and my fave Dior lippy to help feel a little fresher!

7. Face wipes.

8. The usual glamorous collection of massive sanitary towels, breast pads, Lansinoh cream and arnica tablets.

9. Travel kit by Dove which includes everything you need for body and hair, you’ll want a good scrub once it’s over!

Oh and your hospital notes! They’ll be useful too…

Finally, hubby is responsible for bringing change for the car park, making sure all electrical items are fully charged and that the new car seat is fitted and ready to go! This time around we have gone for the Cybex Cloud Q which is more like a space capsule from the future then your standard car seat! I was sold on the lie flat function that transforms the car seat into a carry cot, genius!

Have I missed anything!?

Styling Your Bump For Spring

There have been some major changes occuring this week… The Uggs have been replaced with loafers (more so because I can no longer get them on), I am back to walking the 100 yards to Scarlett’s nursery instead of shamelessly driving it, and last years daffodils have made a fresh appearance in my garden pots! Yep Spring has well and truly sprung and with a new season comes a new collection of clothes so check out my top picks from the virtual high street to style that gorgeous bump of yours!

Keeping it tranquil for Spring!

1. JoJo Maman Bébé – This is such a great cardigan that can be worn a number of ways to flatter your growing bump. When left open, it has that gorgeous waterfall effect that gives instant relaxed style to a jeans and vest combo.

2. Isabella Oliver – I love this simple sweater dress, it will fast become a wardrobe staple worn with converse trainers and a brightly coloured scarf.

3. Charlotte’s Web – This gorgeous chunky ring can also be worn on a long chain as a necklace for simple statement jewellery.

4. Marks & Spencer – The most lethal shop on the planet… I only went in for hot cross buns! These little loafers come in a selection of colours and I can see myself living in these for SS15.

5. Isabella Oliver – Such an elegant tunic that can be worn so easily with leggings, jeggings or simply a tan! Just remember to invest in a stylish maternity belt, it’ll be your style saviour for the summer months.

6. Madderson London – The brand favoured with pregnant celebrities – even Kate Middleton is regularly spotted in their beautiful tunics! This silk kaftan can be dressed up with skinny jeans and super high heels for special occasions or worn relaxed over your bikini on the beach!

7. JoJo Maman Bébé – You really can’t go wrong with a breton stripe dress. Accessorised with a large tote it’s the perfect get-up for instant chic style.

8. Isabella Oliver – Invest in quality vests, they are so much more flattering around the bust!

9. Zara – And of course a faithful scarf to add a splash of colour to simple outfits. Tie Dye is still very much in…

My AW14 Maternity Capsule Wardrobe

I’ve been stocking up on maternity clothes since I was 7 weeks pregnant and now at almost 18 weeks am finally able to fit into them! I absolutely love maternity wear, pretty much everything is stretchy :). I have several friends pregnant at the moment, all very excited about making their first maternity purchases so promised to put together a list of my ‘can’t live withouts’ to get them started on their shopping. This time around, I have shopped smart and stuck with simple basics that I can accessorise daily for new looks. Click on any image for prices and other colours.

Easy Wear Tops

These wrap tops by JoJo Maman Bébé are such a wise investment because they really do grow with your bump and are incredibly flattering to wear. I’d choose stripes for instant city chic, and a brightly coloured plain wrap to be worn with a contrasting vest underneath for a more casual look. There are loads to choose from!

JoJo Maman Bébé, £29

Basic Tees

Isabella Oliver are in my opinion one of the most luxurious maternity brands out there and as luck would have it, their sales are on… They do truly fabulous long sleeved tees that are totally worth the extra pennies. Go for a couple of muted shades that can be transformed with different accessories.

Isabella Oliver, £31

Best for Jeans

H&M do a fantastic range of maternity clothes that are very reasonably priced. And at less than £15 I don’t know why you’d look anywhere else. They stay up, have pockets and don’t sag at the bum and are seriously comfortable across the bump. Stock up in blue and black and they should see you through!

H&M, £14.99

The Day to Night dress…

This beautiful show stopper by Isabella Oliver is in the sale!!! Perfect for a casual day look with a thick knit cardigan, tights and ankle boots and then to be transformed at night with black patent heels and a clutch. There is a reason this brand is a favourite with the celebs!

Isabella Oliver, £62

TIP: When shopping online for maternity wear, check the elastane content in the garments – the higher the better (between 5% and 10%) so they dont lose their shape after a few minutes wear. They are usually more expensive but totally worth the investment as they will last the pregnancy.

The Useful Tunic

I lived in these JoJo tunics in my last pregnancy, perfect for work and smartening up. You can either wear these with leggings and loafers or tights and boots. Seriously versatile and a dress you are sure to get plenty of wear out of. I wear mine with a skinny belt under the bust to give even more shape.

JoJo Maman Bébé, £35

The key to smart maternity shopping is to keep things plain so that you can create lots of looks just by changing your scarves, jewellery, shoes, belts etc. and the best thing about accessory shopping is that you can wear these long after your pregnancy. Scarves really will become your best friend over the coming months and in my opinion the best places to get quality without breaking the bank are Zara, H&M and French Connection.

This is a whole lot of monochrome for the money and will go with all of the plain basics above…

Zara, £19.99

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t everything… These are just the staples to get you started. More posts on luxury maternity fashion to follow 🙂

What To Expect

It’s time to try something new… Being a mum is wonderful, the greatest thing I have ever experienced, but sometimes, it’s nice to switch off from “say hello to the sun” and get the creative juices flowing again. So the blog, Scarlettandme – is born! I used to be a digital marketing manager for L’Oreal Paris, I’m still a digital consultant but my real passion is fashion and beauty. I really miss having that excuse to spend endless hours going through Grazia, Vogue and Cosmo for purely “editorial research”, finally I have created a reason to do it all again! From here on, my subscriptions will be renewed… However, as any new mum will tell you – a baby changes your style, it happens to the best of us. So perhaps you won’t be reading about the new Choos hitting the runway, but what I can offer you is how to stay looking stylish from the day your size 10 skinnys refuse to do up until the day you finally burn that hateful nursing bra that will never give you the shape of a Marie Joe.

With every milestone in your pregnancy comes a new fashion challenge, I’m currently pregnant with my second and will not be making the same mistakes as I did in the first…  I want to be able to share my fashion experiences and offer tips and advice on the most cost effective way of looking and feeling fabulous, where to go, when to buy it, where to steer clear from, the best bras (this one I really am an expert on going from a happy D to a ginormous G!), what the celebs are wearing and how to get the look for less, what’s best for breast feeding as well as sharing my beauty experience on how to make yourself feel and look amazing with very little effort!

Along the way, I’ll come across stories I want to share outside of maternity beauty and fashion, most likely revolving around my beautiful 1yr old daughter Scarlett, she’s the face of SMA Formula Milk don’t you know? What she wears gives me as much pleasure as my own wardrobe, and she wears it so well? Suri who!? So I will be sure to include the latest finds in baby and toddler fashion as well as anything else that takes my fancy… enjoy!
