WIN the Prescott Changing Bag By Pacapod Worth £115!

It’s Giveaway time again on Scarlett and Me! And this time in the form of the fabulous Prescott Satchel Changing bag worth £115…

This bag is serious eye candy for any new mum, but the reason I am hosting this prize draw so close to Father’s Day is that it is also a favourite for the stylish dad! This bag has already been spotted on the gorgeous Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Hemsworth so it would make the perfect gift for the new dad or dad-to-be. How wonderful for him to have his very own baby bag for him to fill with nappies and whatever else men put in their bags?! The beauty of all the Pacapod bags is that there are endless pockets and compartments to store different things. In my experience – Men appreciate this. My husband gets very frustrated rummaging through my bucket bag to find the wet wipes – it’s weird because I find them straight away every time?

Prescott is a smart yet rugged satchel, with the option of a slim or generous profile. A striking blend of fabric adds a tactile element to the bag, with a gorgeous mix of coated cotton and soft supple canvas.

xprescott_-_twist_1.jpg.pagespeed.ic.QELg30NrDy.jpg

It has hidden expansion panels with expandable side zips to increase capacity for those extra busy days, while the adjustable shoulder strap allows you to juggle baby and tots and keep hands-free.

xprescott_-_back.jpg.pagespeed.ic.rA7nEmXnpb.jpg

A changing bag, work bag (there is actually space to keep a laptop!) and cool bag all rolled into one, it’s a reliable ally that will work hard for you all day long, thanks to PacaPod’s signature 3-in-1 baby organiser.

Review: Pacapod Madison Changing Bag

It has been a long time coming, but the Madison by Pacapod was certainly worth the wait. This is the latest style in their luxury collection of baby changing bags and I am thrilled to say I am one of the first to receive it! So without further-ado, I have photographed the hell out of it to try and give justice to this beautiful bag but if you get the chance to sample it in the flesh, grab it. This is set to be the next iconic nappy bag and I love it!

Available in soft tan leather, this structured 1960’s style bag with a classic top carry handle is the perfect combination of style and practicality.

IMG_1431

The front features two large pockets with magnetic fastenings which makes reaching for your essentials far easier than routing around internal pockets.

This is where I keep my phone, my lipstick and a bag of chocolate buttons (no mum of a toddler should leave the house without these – these are an instant tantrum remedy.)

IMG_1433

The chunky gold detail takes it from an ordinary nappy bag to serious arm candy.

IMG_1434

IMG_1435

The entire front panel zips open to reveal enough space for all your day to day hand bag essentials; the sunnies, wallet, sun creams and anti bac sprays, as well as the bulky necessities such as spare baby clothes and muslins.

IMG_1436

IMG_1437

At the back is another full zip to access the largest compartment of the bag.

IMG_1439

IMG_1441

In here are kept Pacapod’s signature Changer and Feeder Pods.

IMG_1442

IMG_1455

The Changer Pod is big enough for everything you need to change your baby. Nappies, wipes, creams and nappy bags. There are 4 separate compartments within the pod to keep everything incredibly organised…

IMG_1443

The pod has a further compartment on the back for the changing mat to be neatly stowed away. These little pods mean you dont need to take the entire bag for a quick nappy change in the restaurant toilets, you can just grab the changing pod and go – genius!

IMG_1446

The insulated feeder pod is perfect for keeping food warm and milk bottles cool. We haven’t entered the ‘weaning’ stage with Anastasia yet but this bag is perfect for my older girls. I keep the emergency stash of snacks in here as well as their water bottles.

IMG_1454

Again, rather than rummaging through the bag, or taking out a separate lunch bag – I can keep it all in here and only need to take out this bag for food and drinks. It has ruck sack straps on the back too which means the girls enjoy carrying it themselves!

IMG_1451

The bag is slightly larger than most nappy bags, but you would be surprised how quickly you’ll fill it! It means I only ever need one bag to take out with me, and if I ever need more space, I can take out the pods leaving a huge compartment for things like jumpers and blankets for the girls.

The Madison retails at £290 and is available for Pre-Order with an expected delivery mid August. For more information check out the official Pacapod site here.

Press Event: The Natural Baby Shower Flagship Store Opening

Anastasia and I have just returned from a really fantastic press event held to celebrate the Natural Baby Showers flagship store opening in Bagshot, Surrey. We were given a private and very exclusive show round of their luxury products before the store opens to the public in tomorrows grand opening!

I first came across this brand online almost 5 years ago when pregnant with Scarlett, they had the best selection of Merino Kids at the very best prices! They are still soaring online with special offers and a huge collection of luxury baby bits but now, they have opened an actual store where you can buy, try and browse the very best in baby paraphernalia! And the best bit of all? It’s opened less than 5 minutes from my home. Result!

IMG_0881

The store is situated just off the high street with its own parking.

The whole experience of this store was fabulous from the moment I entered. The knowledge of the staff is superb which is exactly what you need when shopping for a baby, and the selection of brands is seriously impressive. It was so refreshing walking into a baby store and not to be greeted with the same old products and brands, I was particularly impressed with their collection of prams – check this little beauty out by Mima!

IMG_0833

I was in Merino heaven… Such an impressive collection of merino, organic and ethically sourced clothes that make beautiful new baby gifts!

IMG_0825

The Aden & Anais display was particularly impressive!

IMG_0836

Only the best, high quality wooden toys – my girls particularly love the cake stand by Le Toy Van!

Upstairs the rooms are divided to display their luxury nursery collections (including Boori – my favourite!), as well as offering a spacious dressing area so that you may try on their selection of maternity wear or perhaps want some privacy to feed your baby.

IMG_0875

As a Brand Ambassador we got very excited when we saw this Babymoov display upstairs!

IMG_0838

Plenty of space to sample the pushchairs, the car seats are coming soon!

The team at Natural Baby Shower believe it to be imperative that they know everything there is to know about the products they sell so that they can advise their customers properly and offer the best possible experience instore. It also helps that they all seem totally baby mad!

IMG_0856

Victoria, Founder of The Natural Baby Shower holding a very content Anastasia!

Chatting to Victoria, mum of 4 and founder of the Natural Baby Shower, it was obvious how determined she was to make this the ultimate shopping experience for new mums and mums to be. In the not too distant future she even plans to start a Baby Concierge service which just sounds amazing and an absolute godsend when you don’t know where to start with your pregnancy and baby shopping! I’ll tell you more about this once it’s launched.

My Top 5 Baby Changing Bags for 2015

So being a ‘Bag Girl’ myself, choosing my first ever nappy bag was up there with the most exciting purchases made during my baby shopping frenzy back in 2011 when I was pregnant with Scarlett. I remember seeing the Elizabeth Storksak in tan at John Lewis and it was love at first site. So much so I went on to also get this in red after having Savannah in 2012! Whilst there is plenty of mileage in the old bags yet, with a new baby should come a new bag. Am I right mums!? So these are my Top 5 tried and tested most stylish and practical baby change bags on the high-street.

Pacapod Firenze, £265

If you already follow my Instagram you’ll know what a huge fan I am of this bag. It’s pretty big, so perfect for me with the 3 ‘under 4’s’ I’ll soon be catering for, plus there are endless compartments for your bits and bobs that mean you can’t help but be organised when you leave the house. But let’s face it, it’s the putty colour, the pebble grain leather and the chunky gold details that give this luxury bag the edge. Like all of the Pacapod bags, it is designed with practicality in mind but by no means sacrifices on style to get there. And whilst this might be on the slightly pricy end of the scale, this fabulous shade of grey will see you through every season making the Firenze a very justifiable investment.

firenze_putty

Pacapod will be launching the much awaited Madison bag very soon and I am delighted to say I will be one of the first to review it 🙂 So, if you are interested in more from their luxury range, make sure you follow the blog to stay up to date!

Babymel Cara, £58

This is the most gorgeous lightweight bag to see you through Spring / Summer and offers instant Riviera style to a simple jeans and t-shirt combo.  It’s got plenty of storage and its large main compartment makes it incredibly easy to find what you are looking for. The changing mat is large yet compact, you aren’t overwhelmed with too many pockets and for sheer ease of use I would give this bag a 10 out of 10. It is definitely the bag that will be joining me on all of our holidays!

700_Cara_NavyStripe_1

Coco Bow, £190

This brand was recently recommended to me by a fellow blogger, and I have to say I am really impressed! Coco Bow have such a beautiful collection of vintage inspired designs all made in the finest leather, but it is the innovative practicality that set this bag apart as the winner of the Junior Design Awards 2014. It can be worn over the shoulder, as a stylish handbag and even as a back pack making this bag perfect for a mum with more than 1 child. Their SS15 collection will be available from March so I am very excited to see what else they have up their sleeves!

Tanhighres_grande

Pink Lining, Not So Plain Jane, Hydrangea, £34.50

Pink Lining have made their mark with their signature Yummy Mummy cup cake motifs, but for a slightly more toned down version of their best sellers – check out the Not So Plain Jane collection. The hydrangea is my favourite print and the hard wearing canvas means the bag always keeps its shape. It has ample storage solutions and a really lovely branded changing mat. All of this and it is currently half price in the sale! It’s a perfect summers baby change bag.

nspj_hydrangea_f

Storksak Elizabeth, £199

I couldn’t very well list my Top 5 and not include my faithful Elizabeth… Since getting mine they have bought them out in a much wider selection of colours and I absolutely love it in Chalk, this is a seriously chic bag that will look equally stylish in the colder months.

Say Bye Bye to the Mulberry and Hello to the Nappy Bag!

So are you ‘bags’ or ‘shoes’? Every woman fits in to one of these categories, luckily for me I am ‘bags’ because the choice of shoes with fat ankles and aching hips followed by years of chasing your toddler around muddy parks is considerably less! If you are shoes, its probably best to accept now that you are going to be in ballet pumps, Ugg boots or Converse for the next 3 years. But if you are bags – I am pleased to say you are in luck! There are some fabulous nappy bags out there, which is just as well as from here on – your nappy bag will be your one constant accessory wherever you go!

There is a lot to consider when choosing the perfect nappy bag, here are a few questions you must ask yourself…

Does it go with my pram?

Will it go with the majority of my shoes?

Is it going to see me through at least 4 seasons?

O yes – and of course, how practical is it?

I was under the silly illusion that I would use my Bayswater which I thought would be plenty big enough, and just use my Anya Hindmarch Emergency Baby Kit that would fit nicely inside it! DREAM ON… You thought you carried a lot around with you before you had a baby? All I can say is thank god for the mummy clip so you don’t have to physically carry the bag around and instead it can clip nicely on to your pram (these are available at JoJo Maman Bebe and are essential!). I have put in some extensive research based on my own experiences and what is available in the shops today and in my opinion the below are some of the most stylish around.

My personal favourite are Storksak bags, I have the Elizabeth leather and can’t rate it enough! But this was obviously bought over a year ago and since then they have bought out the Isabella…

A friend of mine has a SugarJack which is gorgeous and once you are finished with it as a baby bag you can take out the inside pockets to use as an everyday bag which is big enough to fit in your work laptop.

Pacapod are for the seriously organised… the designs are genius – I love this weekend bag. They do a fab range of everyday bags and won’t look out of place on dad so they should feel slightly happier carrying it around!

And finally, you can’t go wrong with Cath Kidston, their changing bags look beautiful hanging off your pram. The only thing I would say against these bags are the changing mats are so huge they take up all the space in the nappy bag so you would probably want to keep the CK one at home and take out a smaller mat.

My one tip would be to go for neutral or toned down colours as opposed to brights or blacks, these shades tend to work with most outfits and will see you through summer and winter.
